Sadly we’ve had to pull out of the prestigious Burbage Beer Festival Music Night, which we were due to play tomorrow. Bev and I are both unavailable, for different reasons - in my case a back condition which required a visit yesterday to a chiropractor, who did things to me that I find hard to believe are legal, even between consenting adults, one of whom has signed all the necessary forms. Shame. I used to live in Burbage, and it would have been fun to enliven the old haunts with our uniquely compelling brand of rock and/or roll. Tim and Colin were all for doing a White Stripes-type guitar and drums thang, but we managed to pursuade Colin that the dress really didn’t suit (or fit) him.

Seriously, though, it really grieves us to have to let anyone down, especially at such late notice, so apologies with all due humility to Steve Pilkington, who was kind enough to ask us to play. It’d be lovely to do it next year if they’ll have us. And it was particularly disappointing for us to cancel - we had taken pretty much the whole of August as a badly-needed holiday, and can’t wait to get back into it. Our first rehearsal after our break was absolutely electric...

Still, good news today about a gig next month at the even more prestigious Cheese and Grain in Frome, supporting the estimable Stackridge! (And by the way, as you’ll see from the gigs page, Scally’s and the Wunderbar have both asked us back, so we must be doing something right...)
